Research & Design Approach

Discover: Uncovering Pain Points

The objective included identifying key pain points in the current recruitment process by aligning user needs with business and product goals. This required the understanding of how Al can assist in queuing interviews and shortlisting candidates.​

What we did?

Stakeholder interviews

  • Collaborated with the product manager to define goal, timeline and deliverable for the AI assisted recruiting application and key expectations

 

User interviews (8 recruiters & 3 hiring managers)

  • To understand recruiter pain points, we conducted in-depth interviews with multiple hiring teams. These sessions revealed key challenges in managing high applicant volumes, coordinating interviews, and effectively assessing candidate fit—highlighting opportunities to streamline workflows through technology.

Technical alignment

  • Early collaboration with data science teams helped align our design approach with the AI platform's capabilities. By grounding solutions in both user needs and technical realities, we ensured the final product would be both impactful and feasible to implement.

We developed recruiter personas to pinpoint pain points like high-volume screening and inconsistent evaluations—guiding our AI tool's design to enhance efficiency while keeping user control intact.​

We mapped recruiters' current screening process—from job posting to candidate selection—exposing bottlenecks like manual resume sorting (avg. 4 redundant steps) and disjointed communication channels causing 30% delays in shortlisting.

Design: Balancing Automation & Control

We transformed the recruitment workflow through AI-powered efficiency:

  • The solution instantly surfaces top candidates with prioritized match scores and color-coded rankings, while transparent tooltips build trust by explaining scoring logic.

  • Bulk actions like one-click scheduling eliminate repetitive tasks.

We engineered the platform for near-instant page loads even during peak usage.

  • This ensured recruiters can focus on decisions, not delays, creating a seamless hiring experience at scale.
